7 months between order (at the end of august) and Baselworld.

this is a big mistery.....

Dirk has decided to now use the pinion, or bushing, on the entire line of watches, whether they have the QA feature or not. So, if your Dorn was made after Jan 2009, it will have the bushing, regardless.

Thanks Candle, I have to say thay I prefer the old solution: without bushing...it's only a "visual" opinion and not techinacal!

Very nice, subtle modification of the sunburst on the wheels, Alain. I didn't even notice it, at first, but looking at your photos again, it looks great!

whats the big difference between these two models?

did you pay extra for the additional engraves in the back?

The 99.0 and 99.1 are similar, but in my humble opinion the 99.1 is more beautiful.

According to Dirk Dornblueth the additional engravings in the back does not cost anything extra.

The difference is in the size of the "eccentric" seconds display, which is "oversized" on the 99.1. Also, the 99.1 seconds display can be ordered with the double edge design. Which aesthetic appeals to you most?

I prefer the 99.1, but I dont know if I want to pay 500 more just for a bigger second..

Many people (including myself) find the subdial of the 99.1 more "balanced" because it is centered in the space below the center axis. An argument can be made, though, that the small subdial of the 99.0 is less distracting and thus makes the time (hours/minutes at least) easier to read at a glance.

The marine chronometer designs on which the watches are based usually feature large and prominent seconds dials, and this carries over well to the 99.1. However, if you look at most pocketwatch dials from the first half of the 20th century and earlier, I think you see that the typical seconds dial is smaller and closer in size (if not centering) to the 99.0.

Have I argued both sides of the question enough for you? I think it comes down to which design you like best, and whether you want to add the Quattro Arret feature, which I think is not available on the 99.0.
