The Amsterdam Watch Co, Dornblüth's AD in the Netherlands, has a Gorch Fock (#12) on their site. The photos are quite nice:

http://awco.nl/produkt.php?id=1278&type=1&select=1&foto=1&produkt=1&pagina=1&nummer=23&AantalPagina=153&HuidigeMerk=Alle%20horloges&Laatste=0

Reminded me of how much I like the traditional marine chronometer layout of the dial: power reserve at 12, oversized small seconds at 6, even the serial number engraved inside the subdial. Hope that someday Dornblüth releases this movement in a regular production, normally-sized watch.

I agree with you completely - I love the lay-out of the dial.

The timelessness and beauty of this design can be seen in the examples of Ulysse Nardin ship's chronometers gathered by Marcus Hanke:

A broader survey of the marine chronometer evolution can be seen here:

with more focus on technical improvements than on design changes. (Beware: large files!)
