Found this blog post with quite an explanation of power reserve displays in general and the Dornblüth creation in particular. Amazing detail.

Thanks for sharing this great find. I've struggled to fully comprehend the way the Dornblüth PR indicator works. Once I read this article a few more times, I'm sure I'll appreciate my 99.2 and 99.3 much more (as if that's even possible Wink ).

This looks like a pretty good explanation of the power reserve function (although very lacking in diagrams), but the website that it's on is a portal to a site that sells replica (fake) watches. Just FYI.
